Mt. Healthy Junior High School

Due to a significant number of COVID cases/quarantines the Jr/Sr High will be remote on January 5, 6 and 7th. Computers for Jr/Sr High students can be picked up by driving down the one-way alley by the cafeteria between 8 am and 4 pm on January 5th. Students at North Elementary, South Elementary, and the Early Learning Center will remain in person at this time. Elementary students will receive their computer to take home tomorrow, January 5th.

With the closure of the buildings this week, exams will not be taking place. As a result of this, student exam grades for 1st semester will be determined by averaging 1st & 2nd quarter grades together. If you have any questions, please message your teachers or principals.

Due to a high number of illnesses, Mt. Healthy City School District will be closed until after Christmas break. Staff and students should not report to the buildings. Staff will return on Monday, January 3 and students will return on Wednesday, January 5. We wish you a Happy Holiday! Thank you!

Good Afternoon Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr Parents, Mt. Healthy JR SR High School will be remote on Friday December 17, 2021. Students are expected to login to classes and complete assignments online. In addition, next week December 20th-22nd semester exams will be held at the Jr/Sr High School campus. Students are expected to report to school on time for semester exams. All students will be released for early dismissal at 12:30 pm on Monday, December 20 through Wednesday, December 22. As always thank you for partnering with us to educate your child. Healthy City School District in partnership with the Freestore Food Bank, and No Kid Hungry will provide a breakfast box for about 200 district families for the upcoming holiday. Families will pick up the food boxes from the Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School Warehouse from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The breakfast boxes will include turkey bacon, sausage, eggs, syrup, and pancake mix in addition to food pantry items for a delicious holiday brunch. Additionally, shelf-stable meals from the Children's Hunger Alliance and Kroger gift cards from No Kid Hungry will provide the first 400 Mt Healthy students who register, plentiful food over the holiday break. Just a reminder for Junior High Parents: All Junior High students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for all sporting events at Mt. Healthy City School District. Thank you for your support!

Early today shortly after arrival, a fight took place at the high school. The fight was broken up and students were asked to return to their classes. At that time, the high school building principals decided to have each teacher hold their students while the principals went to each class to discuss expectations. These lasted from 1st bell to the end of 3rd bell. The Jr High school decided to hold their students in place also. As always, safety for all of our students is a high priority. It was during this time that a rumor surfaced that a gun was on campus. This was a false statement and at no time was a gun reported on the high school campus. To ensure that parents were aware of the incident, an All-Call was sent to all parents. Parents of a high school student, if you did not receive an All-Call, please contact Principal Arnez Gray at 513-728-7655 to update your contact information to receive all future All-Call announcements. Dear Mt. Healthy City School District Families, We hope that your family had a restful and meaningful Thanksgiving holiday. As we look forward to returning to classes on Monday, Nov. 29, we again ask for your help in keeping our students and staff healthy and safe. With family gatherings, travel out of town, and more social contact over the holiday, our community could see an increase in exposure and positive Covid-19 cases. Therefore, we are asking Mt. Healthy CSD families to show extra diligence in keeping students at home if they exhibit any symptoms of the virus. The most common symptoms our nurses have seen are sinus congestion, sore throat, headache, cough and fever. Again, please do not send your child to school with any of those symptoms. Students should also remain at home if they were exposed to a positive case outside of school, unless they are fully vaccinated and have no symptoms. Remember that the mask-to-stay rule (where symptom-free students can stay in school if they wear their mask correctly) only applies to exposure within the school setting. We ask that all students bring two masks with them to school. One they wear heading into school for the day and one in their backpack. That way, even if they are identified as a close contact during the school day, they will be able to remain at school. Finally, please remember that you can instantly report your child testing positive or being a close contact by contacting the nurse at your student(s) school. Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School Band Concert - Tuesday, November 16 7 pm in the Jr/Sr High School Auditorium. The Jr/Sr High School Bands will be performing several selections this evening. Hope to see you there!

Attached is a link to a video from the USDA that discusses the current state of food and paper supplies. Mt. Healthy Food Service Department is experiencing manpower, food and paper supply shortages on a daily basis. Please remind your students that we are doing our best to serve the posted menu but may have to substitute food items. As for the trays, plates, boats, sporkettes and other paper supplies, we are limited to the number of cases we can order weekly. On Wednesday, November 17th from 2:30-4:30pm, Mt. Healthy City Schools Pantry in conjunction with the FreeStore Foodbank and No Kid Hungry present Our Dinner At Home Holiday food distribution. In addition to our regular distribution of groceries, every box will have a turkey, and the ingredients for dinner you can make with your family. There will be a recipe for making the turkey inside the box and our very own Chef Brian Potter will upload a video so that you have step by step instructions on how to prepare the turkey. The food distribution will take place at the warehouse behind the J/Sr HS. Please check our social media websites to sign up for the boxes as all will be first come, first served.
