Instructional Needs
Instruction can be delivered in “mini lessons” and is not expected to take the whole time. Students will be given assignments daily to show progress. This could come in the form of a question of the day or exit ticket.
Meets will be left open during student work time in case students have questions.
Grades will be taken during this time.
Contact will be made for students who have not “shown up” in Google Meets
Teacher contact information will be shared with parents in case of questions or concerns.
Will we take attendance?
Yes, attendance will be taken. Students need to log into first bell for daily attendance. Students also need to be logged into their individual bells for period attendance.
Attendance will be entered on Oct. 18 for the week of Oct. 11-15
Attendance will be entered on Oct. 25 for Oct. 20-22.
Are students expected to complete assignments while they are not at school?
Yes - During this time away from the classroom, teachers are designing lessons and assignments to continue to provide instruction for students. If you or your student are unsure of his/her progress, please refer to Progressbook.
Will these assignments be graded?
Yes - Just as students would be receiving grades during first quarter in the classroom, the assignments they are completing online will be entered into Progressbook and used to average their grades in each class. Therefore, please encourage them to take their time and put forth effort on these assignments.
How can my student access their assignments?
All lessons and assignments are available online through each teacher’s Google Classroom. Each family has been offered access to a Chromebook through the Mt. Healthy City School District.
What if my student doesn’t understand an assignment, and I don’t know how to help them?
Don’t stress - there are various ways to reach out for help.
Email the individual teacher that posted the assignment. Although we each have “office hours,” most of us make ourselves available several hours during the day/night/weekend.
Have your student post a message on Google Classroom.
Schedule a time to meet with your students teacher during their office hours. Every teacher is available to meet from 7:30-8:00 before school as well as 2:05-2:45 after school.
