Healthy Steps, Happy Hearts: Mt. Healthy School District's Sidewalk Shuffle 5K Delivers Fun and Fitness
The Mt. Healthy City School District is proud to look back on its inaugural Sidewalk Shuffle 5K Walk/Run, organized by the Wellness Committee's subcommittee on Staff Wellness/Virgin Pulse. The event, held on Saturday, April 27th, saw a great turnout from staff, their families, and the wider community, all coming together to promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle.
The weather for the event was wonderful, setting the stage for a morning filled with fitness, friends, and community spirit. The route started at the Early Learning Center and went through the neighborhood of Mt. Healthy before looping back to the ELC.
Among the runners, Stephanie Glass, a 3rd-grade teacher at South, secured the first position. For the walkers, Jana Wolfe, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning and Technology, and Jen Danner, CLSD Grant Manager, claimed the top spots.
Participants also had the chance to win exciting prizes donated by local Mt. Healthy businesses and other wellness-promoting establishments. Over $1,800 worth of gifts were generously contributed.
Thank you to all participants, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who contributed to making this event such a wonderful time.
