At a Celebration of the Life of Ruth Rechenbach, a book collection was donated in her name to the Early Learning Center for pre-k and kindergarteners. Mrs. Rechenbach taught for 23 years in Mt. Healthy Schools. She was a Mt. Healthy resident and her daughters Amy and Stacy are Mt. Healthy graduates. Mrs. Rechenbach loved being a teacher and was devoted to teaching reading. Her many teaching colleagues contributed to the donated book collection.
As a graduate of Ohio University, Ruth – then Miss Miller –began her teaching career in 1956 in Urbana, Ohio, then taught in Colorado for a year and returned to continue her life in Mt. Healthy. She resumed teaching when her daughters were in elementary school. She substitute taught, then was a classroom teacher in second grade at New Burlington School and third grade at Greener Elementary School. She retired in 1996. For many years following her retirement, Ruth returned to tutor in many classrooms where she assisted students in learning and practicing cursive writing.
Ruth passed away on December 6, 2022. A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Rechenbach took place on April 1, 2023 at Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church.
