Mt. Healthy Band and Choir Members Earn Top Honors at OMEA

Members Mt. Healthy High School Symphonic Band performed at OMEA (Ohio Music Educator Association) Solo and Ensemble Contest February 2-3, 2018 and earned high honors for their performances.  The Solo and Ensemble Contest is a city wide event where students perform music by themselves or in small groups in front of a judge.

On Saturday, February 3, 30 band students participated in the OMEA contest with many playing in 2 or 3 judged events.  In response to the students’ performances, they were awarded the following ratings:

 18 students received the highest rating of I or Superior

28 students received the second highest rating of II or Excellent

9 students received a rating of III or Good​


The Mt. Healthy Choir also participated in the OMEA Solo and Ensemble ContestOn Saturday 32 choir students performed in 2 to 3 judged events.

 10 students received Superior ratings

12 students received Outstanding ratings
