Mt. Healthy Celebrates High School Student Leaders

Mr. Thomas Hill, Principal of Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School, and Mt. Healthy administrators and staff celebrated 39 high school students on Wednesday, November 29 with a dinner in their honor. They applauded the students for their excellence in the classroom as well as the leadership characteristics they show on a daily basis in and out of the classroom by striving to be strong role models for their fellow students. These students offer up their time by mentoring and tutoring other students, helping teachers and staff with organizational tasks, assisting the athletic department, and community service within the schools and out in the community.  To become a student leader, each student pledges to uphold the standards of the Student Leadership group, including the Eight Pillars of Character: Integrity, Respect, Trustworthiness, Hard Work, Responsibility, Caring, Good Citizenship, and Ownership. These pillars are implemented through the Mt. Healthy Core: Family, Academics, and Activities. Students are selected for the program by Mr. Hill as well as the current student leadership team. “Our Student Leaders know what an honor it is to be inducted into this program. By Showing respect, good judgement, and character, our students are committed to knowing they are Today’s Students-Tomorrow’s Leaders,” stated Mr. Hill about the program.
