Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School held a Parent Resource Summit on Thursday, November 2, in the Media Center. Parents listened to speakers discuss The wellness Committee, The Food Pantry, Mt. Healthy Alliance, CASE (after school homework assistance), Upward Bound for college-bound students, and Mt. Healthy Public Library activities for teens. Mr. Joe Sumpter, Associate Principal for the Sr High School, explained the steps to helping students have a successful high school experience through his "Your Child's Journey to Graduation" presentation. Ms. Yvonne Watson, Administrative Assistant in High School, presented "Make the Most of your Parent/Teacher/Students Conference" in which she explained several ways to assist parents in discussing with teachers the most efficient ways to help their students in school as well as keep the conferences less confrontational. Ms. Watson also explained how to access Progress Book and the best ways to keep in touch with a students' grades and school activities.This was the first engagement activity this year, and we look forward to more parents joining for future activities.
