The Southwest Ohio Conference recognized Mt. Healthy High School Athletics’ recipients of All League Honors for this year’s spring sports. From the Owls Softball team, Emily Jeffries was awarded 2nd team honors, Vivian Willis was awarded the Sportsmanship award, and Kristin Spradlin received league Honorable Mention. The Mt. Healthy High School Baseball team produced a 2nd team selection in Malakai Cannon, Ronnell Ellison earned Honorable Mention, D’Yaron Yelton was also awarded the Sportsmanship Award. Boys Track added to their recent success with ten 1st team selections including Jalien Davis, Julian Davis, Jamal Kelly, Darius Thomas, Justin Abrams (Sportsmanship award), Quintin Anderson, De’rrick Martin, Chris Pavon, Matthew White and Cortez Huckleby. 2nd team selections included Shawn Bell and Hassan Emory. Brayden Gray also received league Honorable Mention. Boys track also had six participants at regionals which included Jalien Davis, Julian Davis, De’rrick Martin, Chris Pavon, Hassan Emory and Darius Thomas. State qualifiers included Quentin Anderson, and Justin Abrams (who placed 8th in Pole Vault). Girls Track was responsible for five 2nd team selections, including Lakiya Darby, Jordanne Smith, Madison Griffin, Erica Hardy and Jakiya Ervin. In addition, Ella Norris received Honorable Mention, and Taria Roberson received a Sportsmanship award. Lee Young received Honorable Mention and Charles Gibbons received a Sportsmanship Award for the Owls Tennis team. 4-Year Varsity Award winners are Kristin Spradlin (Softball), Erica Hardy (Girls Track), Jamal Kelly (Boys Track) and Justin Abrams (Boys Track).
The Southwest Ohio Conference also recognized student-athletes who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher with academic honors. Eight players from Mt. Healthy’s Softball team earned academic honors. Those included were Precious Burks, Morgan Bush, Amber Cornist, Emily Jeffries, Sandy Trinh, Vivian Willis, Maya Floyd and Tyleah Williams. Rashid Dewees and Ravon Key earned academic honors while participating in Baseball. High School Track produced nine academic honors recipients which include, Shawn Bell, Anthony Jackson, Lonnie Phelps, Erica Hardy, Ella Norris, Mikaysha Powell, Taria Roberson, Jordanne Smith and Noel Weathers. Evan Edwards and Lee Young earned academic honors while participating in tennis. Junior High Track also produced nine academic honor award recipients, those awarded were Janiah Holloway, Gabrielle Jackson, Mackenzie Lewis, Shiprah Taylor, Avrie Woods, Michiyah Yacob- Washington, Louis Ba, Xander Grimes and Willie Stephens.
